2025-2026 Child Welfare Scholarship Applications are now OPEN!
CCWSC scholarships are available to full- and part-time BSW and MSW students enrolled at one of our partner universities, including those completing their degrees online and MSW Advanced Standing students. The scholarships include a competitive application & interview process and a limited number are available each year.

Application Instructions
Returning Child Welfare Scholars (those who have previously received a child welfare scholarship/stipend from a participating Colorado university) should reapply by:
- Friday, January 24th, 2025
New Applicants: We have several opportunities to submit a new scholar application:
- Friday, January 24th, 2025
- Friday, March 14th, 2025
- Friday, April 18th, 2025
The sooner you apply, the better! We are anticipating a highly competitive process again this year so the earlier you apply the earlier you’ll know if you’ve been awarded a scholarship!

Both returning scholars & new applicants have short answer questions with word limits. We suggest you prepare your answers in a Word doc to show word count & to edit easily.

In addition to your essays, you will need the following documents:
- Resume: Please provide a 1-2 page updated resumé (including educational and work/volunteer experience).
- Reference Requests: All reference requests will be submitted online through the application software.
- First time applicants: Two reference requests are required and should come from someone who is acquainted with your writing skills, personal qualities and your professional goals. If applicable, they should also be knowledgeable about child welfare.
- Returning Scholars: One reference request is required and should come from your current field instructor or internship coordinator.
- County employees: One reference request MUST be from your current child welfare supervisor.
Yes, you need references!
All reference requests will be submitted through our online application – you will need the name & contact information for all people submitting references on your behalf.
